TRAVEL BASICS

Operating Hours, Seasons
The monument is open twice per year on the first Saturday of April and October. Gates are open 8AM to 2PM.

Getting There
PLANE - The closest airports are located in Alamogordo (ALM) and Roswell (ROW).

CAR - From the North: Go south from Socorro 12 miles to San Antonio, N.M., and then travel east on Highway 380. Drive about 12 miles, and take the road to the right into the White Sands Missile Range. Follow the road 5 miles to the Stallion Gate entrance. You are allowed to drive the 17 miles to the Trinity Site unescorted.

From the South: Visitors may join a caravan that leaves from the Otero County Fairgrounds in Alamogordo, N.M., at 8 a.m. Military police escort the caravan for the 85-mile trip to Trinity, and on the return trip.

FACILITIES

Visitors to a Trinity SiteOpen House see ground zero and the McDonald ranch house. In addition, one of the old instrumentation bunkers is visible beside the road just west of ground zero.
Portable toilets are available. There are also stands selling food and souvenirs.
