This splendid National Park is the site where Abraham Lincoln grew up. Learn about the lives of Abraham Lincoln and his family, who lived here in a pioneer community from 1816 to1830. Open year round.

Visitor Center: The Memorial Visitor Center features two Memorial Halls, a museum with a variety of exhibits and a 15-minute orientation film entitled Forging Greatness - Lincoln in Indiana. Books, postcards and other educational materials are offered for sale in the bookstore.

Walking Tour:
Take a peaceful walk up the wooded Lincoln Boyhood Trail to the gravesite of Abraham Lincoln’s mother, Nancy Hanks Lincoln, and to the Cabin Site Memorial.

Living History:
The Lincoln Living Historical Farm is a working pioneer homestead with a cabin, outbuildings, split rail fences, animals, gardens, and field crops. Rangers in period clothing perform a variety of activities typical of the 1820s. Grounds are open year-round. The farm is staffed from mid-April through September full time, and intermittently in October. Located on Highway 162 across from Lincoln State Park in Lincoln City.

This scenic 1,747-acre park was established in 1932 as a memorial to Nancy Hanks Lincoln. Recreational facilities include Lake Lincoln, lakeside shelter house, boat rental building, nature center, cabins, picnic areas, shelters and trails, plus Class A and primitive camp sites. Lincoln State Park is also the home of “Young Abe Lincoln” Outdoor Drama. Located on Highway 162 across from Lincoln Boyhood National Memorial in Lincoln City.

Through the deaths of his mother and sister and his first brush with slavery, you’ll see how Abraham’s youth in Indiana helped make him one of our nation’s greatest Presidents. Laugh, cry and grow with him as he becomes the man we will always respect and honor. The covered amphitheatre provides the promise of “no rain-outs” during its season, mid-June through mid-August. Located in Lincoln State Park on Highway 162 in Lincoln City.

Buffalo Run Farm, Grill and Gifts sits on property where Abraham Lincoln’s cousin, Dennis Hanks once lived. The theme of this property is commemorative of the Buffalo Trace, which once ran through Spencer County near Buffaloville. If you’ve never had the chance to actually see live buffalo or ostriches, Buffalo Run offers this rare opportunity to you. Live buffalo and ostriches are kept in the fenced pasture located just behind the restaurant and shop. See the massive docile buffalo (ranging from 1,000 to 1,700 pounds) calmly grazing next to the long-legged ostriches (reaching heights up to 9 feet tall). Group tours are available year-round by appointment. Located on Highway 162 between the famed Indiana towns of Lincoln City and Santa Claus.

Colonel William Jones State Historic Site

This carefully restored 1834 Federal-design home of the merchant employer of Abraham Lincoln offers a unique look at the early development of Indiana and the life of Colonel William Jones, who was also a politician. The home includes guided tours, themed talks and exhibits. This State Historic Site is situated on 100 acres of forest, and also offers a self-guiding nature trail, picnic area and a restored log barn. Located one mile west of U.S. 231 on Boone Street in Gentryville.

Annual Lincoln Day at Lincoln Boyhood National Memorial in Lincoln City, Indiana, is held on the Sunday prior to February 12. (812) 937-4541. This event features a guest speaker followed by a pilgrimage to the grave of Abraham Lincoln's Mother for a Eulogy and wreath laying ceremony.
