Located across the Potomac from Washington, DC, Arlington is only minutes away from the District of Columbia's major attractions. Arlington itself is home to many places of historic and culture significance. These site include the Pentagon, The Iwo Jima memorial, Arlington National Cemetery and Fort Myer. The transportation system is extremely well integrated with DC transportation. All the major roads and bridges from Virginia to DC go through Arlington. Also, the city contains nearly a third of the subway stations which make up the DC Metro system. These elements make Arlington a very attractive place to stay while visiting the Greater Washington DC area.
