Houston City Guide

The City in Brief
Houston is a city of constant change and great diversity. A city with a lot to brag about great museums, outstanding theater, mild weather, coastal amusements, abundant golf and a space program.

Houston's multi-cultural attractions are as varied as the city itself and can be found everywhere, in the glorious artwork of the Old Sixth Ward Art Park to the performances at the Ensemble Theatre. The city is also home to the Texas Medical Center and the world's largest rodeo. Don't forget the center for American manned space flight, NASA's Johnson Space Center. The city is remarkably green, with many streets graced by beautiful oaks. Houston has grown rapidly in the last half-century and offers serene neighborhoods just a few blocks from major business districts, making city-driving a delight. Houston's diversity can be found in the multitude of restaurants reflecting cuisines as varied as old-fashioned Texas barbecue, peppery Cajun crawfish, spicy tamales and Chinese dim sum.

The downtown Houston skyline is the city's manmade mountain range stunning from all sides. While the Chase Tower holds the title of tallest building downtown, the Williams Tower near The Galleria is the world's tallest building not located in a central business district.
